A FIT30 EXERCISE

Lunge Rotations

Lunge Rotations are a dynamic exercise that combines lunging with torso rotations. This movement engages the lower body, particularly the muscles of the legs and glutes, while also activating the core and promoting flexibility in the spine.

How do I do Lunge Rotations?

  1. Stand with your feet hip-width apart, hands clasped together in front of your chest.
  2. Take a step forward with your right foot into a lunge position, bending both knees to about 90 degrees. Ensure your front knee is directly above your ankle.
  3. While in the lunge position, rotate your torso to the right, bringing your clasped hands to the outside of your right knee.
  4. Return to the center by untwisting your torso and pushing off with your right foot to stand back up.
  5. Step forward with your left foot into a lunge and rotate your torso to the left.
  6. Continue to alternate between right and left lunges with rotations.

  1. Perform the lunges and rotations in a controlled manner to maintain balance and stability.
  2. Engage your core throughout the movement to stabilize your torso during the rotations.
  3. Maintain proper lunge form by keeping your front knee directly above your ankle and ensuring a 90-degree bend in both knees.
  4. Exhale as you rotate your torso, and inhale as you return to the center.
  5. Turn your head in the direction of the rotation to facilitate a smoother and more natural movement.
